finally I am free from work/university/etc for a few weeks... and I've had time to disconnect from everything and just crochet all day long! =) Here are the very first results...

THE BUBBLY SOFA

This new sofa was once again inspired by a Pet Society item! Can you see the resemblance? =D

Actually the original sofa is from a famous designer and is called the Marshmallow Sofa =)

and of course the final users of any of my couches are my dear Blythes!

Hello there!!!!

Clara is back with some amieggs news =D

Here is a brand new collection.... the amieggs straps!!!!!

I was asked a while back by a friend to attack a strap to an egg for her to hang from her cellphone, but I always thought my eggs were a bit too big for that. And so I've finally gotten around to making new, smaller, hangable eggs!!! =D

Here's the very first:

THE PIG STRAP

a long time ago, back when amieggs didn't even exist and I was barely learning to crochet, I bought a pack of colorful straps from etsy, and I have finally found them the perfect use!!!! I've got tons of different colors, but I think purple suits the little piggy just fine =D

Hello everyone!
Yes, I'm alive!!! (or at least I think I am...)
It seems I finally managed to put together a little something in my (very few!) spare time lately =)

Remember my armchair pattern? Well that was my first, and as cute as it is, I still didn't have a 1:6 doll to compare sizes and had no experience with knitting big stuff like my furniture, so it came out a tiny bit too small and soft for a big doll (like my Blythe)
So I finally decided to come up with a new version of the armchair... the wide pink armchair!!!!

WIDE PINK ARMCHAIR

this time, I made it wider to resemble more a sofa, and added a lower structure to make sure it stands up perfectly even when you put weight on it (like a doll, duh.)

I also followed the style in my latest patterns, taking step-by-step pictures to make sure it is veeeery easy to follow

Notice the new colorful background! =D I've been having trouble taking pictures of some white eggs, so I decided to start using colorful backgrounds. Like it?

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!! =D

now this is embarassing... but I actually made this project back over in august when I was injured and stayed home all day... but never got around to drawing the graphics for the pattern... they just stuck in my notebook for waaaay too long =P BUT IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!! remember how some time back I had something incredibly awesome coming up?? well here it is... I'm very proud to introduce you to...

THE CADILLAC SOFA

once again, I was inspired by one of my favorite facebook games... back in August, this came out:

and since I had just bought my Blythe doll, I decided she needed one!!!! so here it is...

I really wanted it to be for my Blythe, so it is a 1:6 scale model... that is 21 x 21 x 11 cm =) Fits my baby perfectly!!!! And I had my best friend's Blythe come over too cause they actually both fit together =D

this is Ami, my baby.... notice she even got a personalized license plate! =D

and this is her friend Blair, her mommy is my friend Azuki

so how did you like it? I have to say I am veeeery proud of my cadillac... it took me many many hours and many doing and undoing, but to my eyes the final result is perfect!!! =D and that is another pattern that goes into my small collection... as always, available over at my etsy shop and ravelry =)

I feel like my blog has been a bit lonely lately... with exams around the corner, I hardly have time to crochet new eggs... but I managed to find enough time before Christmas is too close to reveal my latest creations!!!!!

Christmas is around the corner... and now that the turnkey amiegg has gone back to its cave, the special christmas amieggs are here!!!!!

Today, I'd like you to meet the first of my christmasy creations:

THE CHRISTMAS TREE

The Christmas Tree is one of the shyest amieggs, and hides his egg-like body under tons of leaves... Due to his tiny little trunk, I don't think I'll be able to make a finger puppet version out of this one, but it is perfect for Christmas decorating!!! =)

I'm considering attaching a string to the top so I can hang him from my actual Christmas Tree =D

With a tiny trunk holding his body and a nice shiny star on top, this is actually the tallest amiegg I've done up until now!

and now that halloween is over... it seems like we're finally entering autumn. when I go around reading blogs, everything is brown and that can only mean one thing... thanksgiving is around the corner!!!

so I tried to come up with special amieggs for halloween but in the end ran late... so I decided I HAD to make it in time for thanksgiving... and here it is!!!!!

this pair of eggs can't live without each other!!! let me introduce them to you one by one =)

this little puppy is a slightly tan brown, he loves to play with his long ears floating in the air... and his big nose helps him find anything you need!!

THE CAT

similar to his older brother the black cat, this little egg likes to curl around in cozy corners and purr all day... unless the dog comes chasing after him!

these two eggs are a perfect pair, and as all my eggs come in a normal and finger puppet version =)

this new item, in the line of the armchair, is a cute 1:6 scale pattern!! =)

very easy to make, you can come up with a cute chaise longue just like, once again, the following from pet society:

so they look alike, huh? =D *feels proud*

long time no blog!!

omg I've been so overwhelmed with starting work and everything lately I haven't posted anything in ages!!!

good news is finally my leg injury got cured, so now I can walk again =D which is pretty awesome since I started work last week and classes this week... hehehe

I started working at my uni actually, collaborating on a project to try to bring more girls into Computer Studies! It's really a lot of fun, but hard work... how can I get those high-school girls motivated to come to a 92% male dominated major? The good part is - my boss decided to use part of the money dedicated to the project to give a prize to the best girl finishing first year... and that happened to be me! =D somehow I managed to be the first in my promotion, and received an awesome prize last week in front of the whole student body... which was pretty embarrassing, with some of my friends cheering behind me xD I'll try to get pics... there was a cameraman around there, I'll have to ask for the official pics =)

and finally classes started... and omg I love my subjects this year!!! I just finished another major in july which I had grown to completely hate for its waste of time... I've spent the last 5 years of my life learning nothing, and now I'm finally studying a wonderful major! I absolutely love every last bit of it, CS rules!!!

and on another completely opposite topic, my best friend Silvia & I bought some Blythe dolls around mid-summer... and since then we've been sewing like crazy!!!!

(my baby Ami wearing the lovely skirt Silvia made for her!! and a lousy blouse I made and is way too big for her... v.v)

Our Blythes have so many clothes right now they don't even fit in the enormous closets Silvia made for them... crazy, really. the bad thing is I have no good camera to take pics... v.v I'll have to go beg my sis again to come be a cameraman for me =D (yeah, she does all the incredibly awesome amieggs pics too =D) so look forward to that!!! for now, just a sneak-peak to the already too-full closet:

I don't want to flood this blog with Blythe stuff though, so Silvia & I talked about starting a new blog together for that... we'll see how that goes =)

I've been working on some new patterns too... but you'll have to wait until they're 100% complete to see them =D (two of them are actually almost done... only need good pics =P)

I'm so happy.... it's finally here.. my first free amigurumi pattern!!!!! and if that weren't enough... you get TWO free patterns!!!! =D

a while back Margarita from Red Ted Art asked me if we could double post some crochet pattern... and here it is!!!

the pattern is actually split into 3 independent pieces:

Ain't it cool??? =D

So I came up with the idea a while back when I bought a Blythe doll... since crochet is my thing, I decided I had to try and make crochet furniture for her! and so here is one of my first creations... the toy chest =) its size is great for playscale dolls furniture, such as Barbie or Blythe, but it is also the perfect size to stand alone on your desk or table keeping your small things organized =D
And since a toy chest is not a toy chest without toys, I came up with the teddy bear and the bunnies!!! they all fit perfectly inside the chest, and look great next to it too!
Both the bunnies and the teddy bear are begginer crocheters level, so go ahead and try these patterns out!!!! The bunnies you will find here are very simple and fast to make, the teddy bear may be a little more complicated or long to make but I have provided nice diagrams to help you understand each and every stitch!!! =)

So I'll shut up now and just let you on with...

The sugar puff bunnies

Each bunny is made of 3 pieces: the body and the two ears. I will describe the white bunny, for the pink bunny simply exchange white for pink and pink for white =)

Body:

Using white

1 – Make a ring with 4 stitches

2 – sc 1, increase 1 (repeat 2 times)

3 – sc 2, increase 1 (repeat 2 times)

4 – sc 1, increase 1, sc 2 (repeat 2 times)

5 – sc 4, increase 1 (repeat 2 times)

6 – sc 1 on each stitch (12 stitches)

7 – sc 1, increase 1, sc 4 (repeat 2 times)

8 and 9 – sc 1 on each stitch (14 stitches)

* if you are using safety eyes, place them now =) *

10 – sc 1, decrease 1, sc 4 (repeat 2 times)

11 – sc 1 decrease 1 (repeat 4 times)

12 – decrease 1 (repeat 4 times)

Bind off and weave in end.

Take some black thread and embroider nose in a Y shape.

Ears:

The ears consist of two parts sewn together.

Using white:

1 – ch 5

2 – ch 1, turn, decrease 1, sc 3

3 – ch 1, turn, sc 2, decrease 1

4 – ch 1, turn, decrease 1, sc 1

Bind off leaving long tail for sewing.

Using pink:

1 – ch 3

2 – ch 1, turn, sc 3

Bind off leacing short tail.

Assembly:

Use the white tail to sew the pink part in front of the white. Then sew on to the body in the desired position. Weave in ends.

Done!!!! =D

camera pouch

and I'm back with another non-crocheted project! =)

I made this last week for someone who just got a new digital camera =D I used a nice patchwork fabric I found a few days ago in a cute store and some IKEA fabric for the inside (just plain yellowish orange)

this was really easy-peasy to make... I just took two rectangular pieces of each fabric, one longer than the other, sewed the same sized pieces together, added some plastic stiffener in the back before turning around the pieces, sewed them together and added a fastener. VOILÀ!!!!

I made this yesterday:

this is actually the first time I work with cotton... it is so different from acrylic yarn!! but I think the outcome was pretty nice =D this was created as I crocheted with no pattern at all... I intend it to be my new Blythe's teddy bear =D aaaand I have the nice habit of writing every pattern I come up with down while I crochet... so I will be sharing it with you guys very very soon =) (as soon as I have time to type it properly =P)

good evening!!!
you might wonder why I haven't posted much crochet lately... and that's because I was preparing... the finger puppet amieggs! =) actually this wasn't my idea... a friend who was trying to promote me between her job mates suggested it... and I think it's an awsome idea!!!

here is the first one just so you can see (I plan on making the normal and finger puppet version of every amiegg):

this little fellow may be one of the simplest amieggs up until now, but he hides a secret....

a hole inside to stick your finger in!!!

I made a collection of animal finger puppets for now, so keep coming back to see them all! =)

good morning everyone!!!

this is probably my first non-crocheted craft post! hehehehe
a while ago I found this post by eighteen25 and thought it was the cutest idea ever... but I didn't have a nice frame, so I had to wait until finally this week my sis took me to IKEA =D

I bought a nice long frame and photoshoped a few stripes out of digital scrapbooking paper I found here and there.... added the amieggs logo on the top....

and here's the result!!!!! (sorry about the lighting... I know you can't see much v.v)

aaaaaaand I am proud to present my second great pattern project.... the armchair!!!! =D

do you know pet society? I have to admit I've been playing with my friends on facebook for more than a year... and there's just so many cute things... it inspired me to crochet!!!!

my first idea was to make this an armchair for my new blythe (which is still on the way to me... mr. postman hurry up please!!!! =D) but I think it ended up being a tiny tiny bit small.... though I can't be sure until I actually have the doll and try it on hehehe once I have her I'll just have to add a few stitches here and there and it'll fit perfectly =D

hello everyone!!!! how was your weekend???
I spent it busy crocheting! =D came up with a few new amieggs, but still have to take good pictures of them... and finished the armchair pattern, which I will be showing you very very soon!!!

for today, we have the bear amiegg!

this little fellow is simple but cute hehehehe as you can see, his eyes are a bit different... I tried giving him safety eyes but they wouldn't stand out over the dark brown yarn... so in the end I gave him beaded eyes =)

I hope you liked him!!!

Hey everybody!!!!

I didn't post anything yesterday because... I was finishing an awsome project!!!!!

Actually a few days ago my friend Azuki & I became really obsessed about buying a Blythe doll... so yesterday we went around town asking... prices were between 140€ and 250€ for the cheapest!!!! wtf... so we ended up buying a set of two on ebay and we'll keep one each... they'll be like twin sisters =D and so I realized my previous amigurumi living room is great for a doll house, but really small for a doll as a big a s a blythe... so I've been making a blythe-sized armchair!!!! I'll show you soon....

for today, we have the koala amiegg!!!!

ain't he cute???? I had made a koala amigurumi before, and transformed it into an amiegg easily =D

as I am still working on the amigurumi kitchen and don't have it finished yet... I will introduce you to another of my little ones: the corn cob amiegg!!!!

I just love this egg!!! (and I have to admit I am not a big corn fanatic.....)

I feel so exited... I'm about to introduce you to my biggest project to the moment... I have spent sooooo many hours on this... but it's finally here...

THE AMIGURUMI LIVING ROOM!!!!!

this cutie is my very first pattern!

it all started a few days ago when I was cleaning up my pinky dolls... and had a great idea: let's make pinky-sized (or just doll house sized) furniture!!!!!

I had been wanting to try creating my own patterns for a while... something different than the easy simple bear or egg... so I randomly ended up making a sofa!

when my mom arrived that night she fell in love with it... and pushed me to make the rest of the living room... and here it is!

It has taken me more than a week to put the pattern together... I noted everything down while I was crocheting and took pictures of the difficult parts, but writing it all down properly was tough... and I even made diagrams like the ones in pattern books to make it all easier to understand!!! (that was a long and hard battle with photoshop.... v.v)

but finally here it is!!!!

1. The sofa

I made it red inspired by sanrio's wanroom.... I just love the brightness in it =D it looks kind of vintage.... and I added a yellow square pillow =)

2. The table

light beige looks good next to the bright red sofa... and the small cactus on top makes a wonderful detail =D (I intended on putting a flower... and discovered it is impossible to make such a small crocheted flower!!!!!)

3. The rug

orange + yellow is love!!!!!

4. The TV

simple but cute =)

5. The TV stand

simple grey box with a drawer =D

and that's it!!!!

it resulted in a 27 page long pdf (lots of diagrams and images!!!!!) you can find on etsy...

now that the living room is finally done I am starting with the kitchen... wish me luck!!!! =)

hey everyone!!!! how was your weekend???

I have to say I'm very proud of my best friend... cause she spent her sunday afternoon finishing my logo and image!!!!!!

and I have to say..... I LOVE IT!!!!!!

THE REINDEER!

this little one was inspired by my previous reindeer ipod case... and I have to say I love it!!! his red nose makes you feel christmasy all year =D

Finally... the day has arrived =D
I am very proud to present..... AMIEGGS!!!!

as you can imagine by the name, by project has something to do with eggs: and it actually does!!! Me and my sis came up with this idea on the bus one day... how about taking the shape of an egg, and transforming it into infinite things, such as animals or food??? And there you have it: amieggs was born =D

So to start I made a few egg prototypes, until I finally found the correct pattern to make a real life sized egg:

and from here on, creativity is the only limit!!!!
For now, I would like to present a few of my little ones, and as they come to life I will keep posting more and more!!!

The first ever amiegg was...

the banana egg!!!!
I actually think this is one of my favorites... because I made it so it can be pealed like a real banana!!! I'd peal and un-peal it all day =D

french macaron

ever heard about french macaron? these lovely french sweets are made of two merenge layers and a jam-like filling, and are incredibly good =)

here's a small collection of some La Dureé (famous macaron shop) macarons I made so you can picture it =)

so now back to amigurumi... I tried making amigurumi macarons!!!! here's what I've got until now =)

for now, they come in 5 flavors:

chocolate

so I juuuuust started with Etsy... and omg so many things to have in mind!

but I am very proud to say.... my first item is up for sale!!!!!!!! =D

yes, I decided my first item should be my beloved reindeer ipod pouch =)

for weeks I've been trying to put together amieggs, with the incredible help of my best friend Azuki and my sis =) I've still got a looooot to do, but for now... it's a great start!!!!

Azuki is currently working on a logo and image (her drawings are awsome!!! check out her blog here) and my sis has been helping with photography and shop building =D

I don't know what I would do without them... my drawing skills are like... depressing. my friends still laugh at the time I tried to draw a European mantis... and they even named it our mascot v.v (yes, playing Pictionary with me can be very challenging =D)
and my sis has had an etsy shop for quite a while now and has been helping me out with all that... she's really creative, I guess most of the creative genes went to her... I got the crochet genes =P
anyway, I wanna take this chance to talk a tiny little bit about my sis' projects!!!!!!

she has two: the first one is chocolatemintcrafts, a beautiful collection of geek rings, brooches and similar stuff!!!! I looooooove them so much... can't go out without one of her awsome Lego or Sugus rings:

aaaand her second project is Bubble Bakes, a series of soaps, lip balms and similar products that smell incredibly good!!!! for now, she's only got lipbalms on her shop, but soon there's gonna be lost more, and believe me, as a tester, I can say it's all awsome!!!

ahoy ahoy!!! today, let me introduce you to...

THE PANCAKE!

this is another coin purse, just like the strawberry shortcake =)

I made this one first actually, put somehow didn't manage to post about it yet!

this is based on a pattern from "amigurumi sweets" (again lol) and I decided to add some personal touches as always =P

I added a yellow zipper and some nice lining made with patchwork fabric and handsewn by me!!! =D (my mom really bugged me about this so it is reeeeeally securely sewn xD)

shortcake coin purse

soooooo I'm working on my very first pattern!!!! yes, I have to say I am proud of myself =P I've actually created photoshop brushes for the main stitches so I can draw patterns as well as write them down in words... hope it makes them easier to understand!! and while I'm not done with that... I introduce you to...

THE SHORTCAKE COIN PURSE

to make this, i took a pattern from the book "amigurumi sweets" that was similar, changed colors and changed the back part of the pattern to make it a coin purse (the original was open)

I closed the back with a zipper =)

added interior lining to make sure nothing escapes!!! I used a piece of cute gold stars on red background fabric that matches the strawberries =)

I topped the coin purse with three strawberries (firmly attached so they never come off!!!!)

ok so this is probably the first time I post about one of my newest projects... people who follow me on facebook (here) already know this, but... I am here to present....

THE FRIDGE

as far as I loooooooove amigurumi, I have reached a point where my room is starting to fill up with amigurumi plushed wich are, we should admit, pretty but useless. so here's my goal: creating something that is amigurumi and useful at the same time. and this is how the fridge was born =D

initially I thought of making a jewelry case, so I could keep my bracelets and stuff like that (that doesn't fit in my normal jewelry case with earings and such), but in the end I think it can be used for anything... actually I'm considering on making an amigurumi carrot and tomato or something like that to put inside and make it even funier =D

anyway, here are a few more pics:

I decided to make a happy fridge... just admit it, when you attach eyes

and a smiling mouth, anything becomes incredibly cute =P

the back is just plain... so it can be placed in front of a wall =)

notice I put cardboard in some parts to make it stiffen a little =)

the inside has a nice shelf

and I put a pocket on the door

all amigurumi lovers when learning reach a difficult point: eyes. There are infinite options for amigurumi eyes, but my favorite is safety eyes. These are plastic eyes similar in shape to a screw that are inserted into the crochet or fabric you are working on and are then attached from the back with a washer. In my projects I use the smallest size of safety eyes I have been able to find: 4,5mm
as you can imagine, it is difficult to use such small pieces.

my first safety eyes purchase was to etsy user 6060 (click here to see her shop). I have to say her service is excellent, and I was incredibly satisfied (plus, she offers discount on bulk purchases). I purchased 4,5mm eyes with metal washers, and I have to say those are the easiest to attach I have found yet. I also bought 6mm eyes with plastic washers, and these are trickier to use but also give an incredibly good result.

nevertheless, a week ago I ran out of safety eyes and decided to buy some more... and ended up buying from e-crafts. the service was incredibly fast and I recieved my 5mm eyes (there weren't any smaller) in 2 days, just to discover that plastic washers are incredibly difficult to use on such small eyes.

so here I am to try to explain the trick I have found to place washers on such small eyes:

1. you will need a pair of pincers

(I used a rubber band to hold it tight and free my hands)

2. you will need something with a circular shape that can apply strengh on the washer. in my case I used a belt hole opener (do you even call it that?) I found at home.

so the trick on making those impossible washers go in is to fix the eye part as hard as you can so it doesn't move when you apply pressure, and use the circle-shaped tool (or whatever you found) to apply the pressure.

(protect the eye from scratches by placing a paper underneath)

believe me, after two days of torturing my fingers while trying to make washers go in, this is just a miracle come true.

hope it is usefull to anyone with safety eye problems!!!!!!! ^^

and yet again I bring you an old project... this is actually one of my favorites: the monkey.

I based this one on a pattern from a book called "amigurumi sweets", where it actually appears with a basket and some bananas I haven't got around to making yet =P I changed just a few things from the original pattern... and was quite satisfied with the result! =D

(you can't really tell he has a tail on the first pic... =P)

I have to admit this was not my first monkey... in my early amigurumi days I made another one (with a completely different pattern) for my friend James... at least I think he liked it... even if it was crapier =P (it was still made with tons of love =D)

ahoy ahoy!!!
today's project is actually one of the first I have done all on my own ^^ I needed a pouch for my ipod touch, so I made a first sock-like penguin:

so this first version got a pencil-shaped button, which turned to be a bit annoying

and difficult to use... so I changed it for a nicer button & strap in the final version:

like it??? =)

and then I made another one using the same pattern and changing just a few details:

the buttons I used here were a present from my sis... I love them!!!!!

Hey everyone!!! today I bring you another of my old projects... This was a birthday present for Miriam back in may =) My friend Miriam loves mamegoma, and so I managed to get my hands on a sanrio pattern book... and made one!!!!

another lovely crocheting day it has been... ^^ it's so hot here lately that even having yarn on my lap makes me sweat!!! lucky it seems like I found a spot with some air going around... or I swear I'd be dead by now...

anyway, since I'm still working on my secret big project, I'll show you one of my old projects again today =P

here to introduce... the ice cream parfait!!!!

this was actually a gift for my friend sandra back in may =) I took the pattern from another book my sis gave me, "Amigurumi Sweets". it's pretty easy to follow, and so much fun!!! this was intended to be somewhere my friend could stick her needles when sewing =) (have no idea if she's giving it that use though hehehe)

My name is Clara and I looooove amigurumi... so now that I finally finished with my exams and am on vacation... let's blog about it!
